優(yōu)秀學(xué)子被英國(guó)大學(xué)與美國(guó)學(xué)院聯(lián)合項(xiàng)目雙錄取

2014年出國(guó)留學(xué)申請(qǐng)季的眾多學(xué)生中，W同學(xué)想同時(shí)申請(qǐng)英國(guó)的大學(xué)和美國(guó)的大學(xué)。但是，苦于SAT遲遲考不出滿意的分?jǐn)?shù)，托福成績(jī)也沒有沖刺到100分，是不是意味著就與他心儀的美國(guó)頂尖大學(xué)失之交臂呢？

幸好W同學(xué)在今年AS考試中取得了A*（數(shù)學(xué)）aaa的好成績(jī)，在51offer申請(qǐng)老師的建議下，他申請(qǐng)了英國(guó)的頂尖大學(xué)，因?yàn)樗腁 Level成績(jī)達(dá)到了大多數(shù)英國(guó)大學(xué)的入學(xué)要求。

而英國(guó)部分大學(xué)對(duì)雅思成績(jī)要求晚，可以在明年7月底之前考出就行，甚至有個(gè)別的英國(guó)大學(xué)可以明年8月31日之前考出來都行。

隨后，在51offer申請(qǐng)老師的建議下，W同學(xué)申請(qǐng)了英國(guó)的杜倫大學(xué)、曼徹斯特大學(xué)、華威大學(xué)、愛丁堡大學(xué)和倫敦大學(xué)學(xué)院的經(jīng)濟(jì)專業(yè)。這也是W同學(xué)最想就讀的專業(yè)。

雖然已經(jīng)拿到英國(guó)名校華威、愛丁堡和曼徹斯特大學(xué)的預(yù)錄取，但他心中還是有一個(gè)美國(guó)夢(mèng)。

于是，51offer申請(qǐng)老師激勵(lì)他積極為SAT和TOEFL考試備考，同時(shí)給他推薦了英國(guó)頂尖名校圣安德魯斯大學(xué)（The University of St Andrews）和美國(guó)頂尖名校College Of William and Mary的合作項(xiàng)目：

St Andrews – William & Mary joint degree

The University of St Andrews has partnered with the College ofWilliam & Mary in Virginia, USA, to offer a truly globalundergraduate degree. The Bachelor of Arts (International Honours)degree combines the best of both historic universities to createthis exciting international programme.

The joint degree allows you to spend two years at each institutionfor a total of four years, after which you will be awarded the BA(International Honours) degree by both universities.

Degree structure

You willapply to the university where you intend to spend your first year,and then you will transfer to the other institution for your secondyear. After this, you can choose where to spend your third andfourth years of study. You will usually graduate from theinstitution where you choose to spend your fourth year, but ifdesired, arrangements can be made to graduate at the otherinstitution.

From theoutset, you will choose to specialise in one of the four subjectareas offered by the BA (International Honours):

Economics

English

History

International Relations

The BA(International Honours) is a broadly baseddegree, and other combinations – such as joint Honours degrees –are not available with this programme. However, during theprogramme you will have opportunities to study a range of othersubjects offered by both institutions.

Once youhave enrolled on the joint degree through St Andrews, it is notusually possible to transfer to a regular degree programme at theUniversity, though exceptional cases may be considered.

Admissionto the BA (International Honours) is highly competitive. Theentrance requirements for all four subjects are:

How to apply

Applications for the BA (InternationalHonours) are not sent through UCAS. Theapplication cycle runs from September to the beginning of May inthe year of entry, and prospective students should apply to theinstitution where they intend to begin their studies.

You canapply for the programme to one institution only, and eachinstitution will honour the admissions decisions of the other. Youmust specify which subject area you wish to apply for on yourapplication form.

If youwish to begin your studies at the University of St Andrews, you canapply through the StAndrews direct application form.

If youwish to begin your study at the College of William & Mary,you should apply through theCommonApplication.

You willusually receive a reply from the Admissions team four weeks aftersubmitting a complete application.
