|概況

香港樹仁大學(xué),原稱香港樹仁學(xué)院,是香港首間私立大學(xué),于1971年由胡鴻烈及鐘期榮夫婦創(chuàng)辦,當(dāng)時因堅持提供四年制大學(xué)課程,只能以學(xué)院名義營運。2006年12月19日,學(xué)院獲香港行政長官會同行政會議通過正名動議,正式承認(rèn)其大學(xué)地位,成為香港首間私立大學(xué),并于2007年2月14日正式更名

|地理位置

校園分三部份:

教學(xué)行政大樓:1985年建成。樓高11層,設(shè)施有普通課室、電腦室、演講廳、禮堂、籃球場、室內(nèi)運動場、室內(nèi)壁球場、教授辦事處及飯?zhí)玫取?/p>

圖書館綜合大樓:1995年建成。樓高19層,設(shè)施有圖書館、停車場、訪客賓館及會議中心等。

學(xué)生宿舍文康大樓:2004年年底落成。樓高29層,設(shè)有學(xué)生宿舍、學(xué)生事務(wù)處、宿舍組、室內(nèi)運動場、游泳池、自修室茶座、多用途活動室及會議室等,學(xué)生會及學(xué)生活動中心亦設(shè)于大樓內(nèi)。其中24至26樓為教職員宿舍,21至23樓為研究生宿舍,6至19樓則為本科生宿舍。

There are now many cross-disciplinary academic programmes in universities all over the world which endeavor to develop their study-areas right at the interface between existing modes of knowledge ‘owned’ by separate departments. The design of all the courses in the Programme has adopted an interdisciplinary approach which aims to create interdisciplinary knowledge between science and humanities, science and philosophy, language and literature, literature and visual arts, ecology and humanities, etc.

Those with honours degree from local universities or overseas universities where the medium of instruction is English, will be assumed to have met this requirement. For all other applicants, an IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent is required to prove fluency in English.

    The Master of Social Sciences (Transformation of Chinese Societies) is designed to explore the transformation of cultural practices and social values brought about by state and market. To facilitate the in-depth investigation of these phenomena, the program is divided into two domains. One domain focuses on changing social values and morality; how they are shaped by institutional transformation and how individual citizens adjust themselves within the social structure amid rapid and radical social change. The other domain considers how traditional cultural practices have been preserved, recycled or transformed in a process of commoditization and politicization. It also examines the popularization of consumerist activities and the relationship between culture and consumption.
