The main aim of the Arts, Creativity and Education (ACE) course is to provide a broad-based intellectual exploration, from an interdisciplinary perspective, of the key arts educational debates amongst policy makers, practitioners and researchers in the UK and abroad. The route will provide an opportunity for students to engage with a range of discourses within arts and culture and within the processes of teaching and learning. It will include contributions from specialists in a range of disciplines, including performing arts, drama, theatre, music, visual art, design and technology (as well as cross-domain theories and principles). Key concepts such as creativity, design, performance and aesthetics will be considered from philosophical, psychological, cognitive and cultural perspectives.
