Some of the most challenging and rewarding applications of physics are in the area of biomedical physics. There is a broad range of applications for biomedical physics in areas such as radiation oncology, medical imaging and radiation safety. Knowledge of biomedical physics can be applied to instrument development, from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to simple glucose monitors or therapeutic agents based on nanoparticles.
