2015-16申請季中將近一半的學(xué)生主文書寫的是“成長背景、身份、興趣和才能”，為最熱門的文書主題。而只有4%的學(xué)生選擇了寫“挑戰(zhàn)過的信仰或觀念”，為最冷門主題。
下面是2015-16主文書寫作統(tǒng)計(jì)：
Option 1: Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. (47%)
選題1：一些學(xué)生有非常重要的背景、身份、興趣或才能，如果不予講述出來的話，那就不是完整的申請。如果你是這樣的學(xué)生，請分享你的故事。
Option #2: The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? (17%)

Option #3: Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again? (4%)

Option #4: Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma--anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. 對于一些大學(xué)，除了主文書寫作要求，還會(huì)有自己學(xué)校的補(bǔ)充文書，如哈佛耶魯。另外，加州大學(xué)系列分校、伊利諾伊香檳分校、賓州州立大學(xué)等一些公立大學(xué)不使用Common App申請系統(tǒng), 而采用自己的申請系統(tǒng)，用的自然?是不同的文書題目。
