Drawing on expertise from the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics, Accounting and Finance, and Economics, this degree presents the core elements of finance and maths that underpin the operation of financial markets. Core finance modules provide a thorough grounding in corporate finance, computing, quantitative methods and economics and will be complemented by your mathematics studies.

German Studies with Italian is taught by the Department of Languages and Cultures. Our distinctive approach enables you to acquire high-level language skills and a thorough understanding of German and Italian cultures and societies within a global context. German Studies at Lancaster is ranked 2nd in the UK according to the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.
Lancaster's Linguistics and Philosophy degree is taught jointly by our Department of Linguistics and English Language – ranked fourth in the country by The Complete University Guide 2016 – and our Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion – which is home to 10 philosophers.

In the second year, you choose to complete either a three year BSc Hons, or a four year MSci, specialising in either pure mathematics or statistics, or taking a combination of the two.
