Courses examine the many different forms of communication, including verbal, non-verbal and written. The various technologies through which information is transmitted are also considered. The program emphasises applied skills relevant to work within communication industries. Journalism is a professional program aimed at preparing graduates for entry into work in journalism and related fields. It develops understanding of journalism and its media and communication contexts; the skills to do journalism, and the reflection necessary to be a journalist.

Human service practitioners help everyday people in need. Professional practice in the human services is complex, challenging and very rewarding because it's about making a real difference in people's lives and building a better world. The Bachelor of Human Services prepares students to work in a range of human service roles with a focus on children and youth, families and/or community development.
In order to develop job ready skills and abilities students undertake two professional placements in community-based human service agencies. These work placements help to secure employment for many students and they meet the accreditation guidelines of the Australian Community Workers Association.

Journalism is an exciting occupation that allows you to meet many different kinds of people and to travel. The basis of journalism is information - discovering, collecting, assembling, analysing and presenting information. To do this effectively, journalists require highly developed skills in language, a good understanding of the media, an interest in current affairs and a broad general knowledge. By also studying the BA, students graduate with highly developed skills in written communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and interpersonal understanding. The BA allows students to choose from a wide variety of majors to either complement their journalism studies (such as Economics, International Relations, Public Policy or Popular Music) or to broaden their knowledge in another field (such as a language, Criminology or Psychology), thus expanding their opportunities to work in different areas of journalism.
The Bachelor of Applied Science is designed to provide a sound knowledge of science, technology and management to train students in broad areas of animal production; the equine industry; parks and wildlife management; agronomy; horticulture; rangelands; food science and the environment so that they are able to contribute to the field in scientific, technical and managerial roles. The Bachelor of Arts offers students the choice of over 40 areas of study in the core disciplines of humanities and social sciences.
