Heritage Management has developed into a major area of global scholarship, government regulation and industrial consultancy in recent decades. Embedded in a world heritage framework, MHM (16 unit) will provide graduates from archaeology, anthropology, history and cognate disciplines in planning and environmental management with "employer-ready" skills, meeting national expectations for entry into professional heritage practice. Taking advantage of UQ's existing strong expertise in research and consulting across the heritage spectrum, including our in-house consultancy UQCHU, MHM will focus on developing professional management skills and knowledge of the legal frameworks, processes and practices utilised in managing heritage places such as archaeological sites, landscapes, places of spiritual, and other cultural significance, and heritage buildings. Drawing on perspectives from archaeology, anthropology, history and other cognate disciplines. MHM students will put their knowledge into practice through fieldwork and applied research. An ethical approach based on sound research and communication skills will be emphasised throughout.

To enrol in the program, a person must hold an approved degree in the same discipline, with a GPA of 5.
This program is designed for both lawyers and non-lawyers wishing to focus their studies on international law. In an increasingly internationalised world, international law shapes almost all forms of international interaction, from business, to trade, to diplomacy, and in war. People already working or hoping to work in a variety of internationally focused fields, such as business, policy, government, and the NGO sector would benefit from a clear understanding of the structure of the international laws that shape the international system, and how to work within those laws.
Applicants must meet the entry requirements for both programs to be admitted to the dual degree.
The dual masters will allow students to understand the links between international politics and international law, including how political events can shape international legal decision making; the impact of law on trade, international security, and other political issues; and how politics and law mutually shape each other. Students will study four core courses in each degree. In international relations, these courses introduce the history of the international system; theoretical approaches to international relations; security in the international system, and international political economy. In international law, one compulsory course introduces public international law, and the remaining three focus on international law in action and the nexus between international law and domestic law. Students then choose from a series of elective courses from both degrees to suit personal growth and interest.

The Graduate Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to negotiate, mediate, manage and resolve issues and support decision making in a wide range of professional settings. The program draws on current practices to deal with conflicts ranging from small individual disputes to large scale, international, and multi-party conflicts.

Medical imaging is developing at a rapid pace and hybrid medical imaging systems are becoming more commonplace. With the blend of high-resolution Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and the physiological data of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), MR-PET is making quite an impression in medical diagnosis. The operation of this new hybrid system requires an understanding of both the MRI and PET stand-alone technologies.

The Master in Peace and Conflict Studies is a coursework program aimed at developing conceptual and empirical understanding and skill sets in research and knowledge development in the field of peace and conflict. Students will gain an advanced understanding of how conflicts emerge and how they can be managed and solved in a nonviolent manner. Topics covered span from the local to the global and include issues such as peacebuilding, conflict resolution and prevention, mediation, nonviolence, gender and security as well as peace and development.

A GCPaCS or GCMedConfRes or GCIS or GDipIS from the university with a GPA of 5; or
An approved degree in any discipline with a GPA of 5 and a minimum of three years relevant professional experience.
