Australian agriculture is a key part of the world's food supply system. The challenges of a rapidly growing population and the limitations of land and fresh water all affect the ability of agriculture to meet the demand for food, fibre and fuel.
This is a qualifying course intended for persons who wish to apply for higher degree by research but do not hold the prerequisite qualification. It comprises a supervised course of advanced study and/or research. Successful completion gives eligibility to apply for entry to a research degree course such as a Master of Philosophy or PhD.
This preliminary course is available to students hoping to gain entry to the Master of Economics (research), Master of Commerce (research), Master of Industrial Relations (research) or Doctor of Philosophy.
To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—(a) a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; or(b)(i) a bachelor's degree in a health, biomedical or biological sciences-related discipline, or an equivalent qualification; and(ii) at least one year of relevant professional experience; or(c)(i) completed the Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education or Graduate Diploma in Health Professions Education at UWA; and(ii) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent in all core units.
Fundamental issues in health professional education are addressed and a range of options in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Education are offered.
