The Composition specialisation encourages composition in all styles. You have the opportunity to work through all phases of the composition process, from first ideas, through to completion of a professionally presented score, to interaction with performers in rehearsals culminating in public performance. You will receive individual tuition, acquiring skills in instrumental and vocal writing, orchestration, electro-acoustic music, professional score presentation, rehearsal skills and concert management. You will be encouraged to develop your own personal and original voice.

Our specialist studies in Ethnomusicology give you the chance to explore your intellectual curiosity and consider music from a philosophical and methodological point of view. Ethnomusicology considers why people make music the way that they do, particularly the social processes involved in music-making. During your studies, you will develop knowledge, skills and practices that provide a basis for independent critical enquiry and research-based writing, as well as the ability and self-confidence to comprehend and present complex concepts.

Our extensive Music Performance program offers you a wide variety of performance experiences. Individual lessons, instrument classes and concert practice form the basis of the performance curriculum, with a strong focus on individual instrumental or vocal development together with opportunities for collaborative music making. You will learn from highly experienced teachers who will assist you in developing your instrumental or vocal potential to the fullest. During your studies you will participate in one of the most extensive ensemble programs in Australia, with options including the University of Melbourne Orchestra, Javanese Gamelan, Big Band, Wind Symphony, World Music Choir and many instrumental, vocal, new music and early music ensembles, as well as an extensive chamber music program.

Musicology asks why we like music, how it functions and what it means. It examines not only music but also music-making within its social and cultural environment. Ethnomusicology seeks to understand how and why current music-making in a global context is meaningful to its makers, owners and communities. During your studies, you will develop knowledge, skills and practices that provide a basis for independent critical enquiry and research-based writing, as well as the ability and self-confidence to comprehend and present complex concepts.

The Bachelor of Oral Health has four main components that all students must undertake: Oral Health Sciences Social Sciences and Health Promotion Preventative and Clinical Dentistry Vocational Clinical Practice

IELTS: 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0)

Students in the Master of Management (Accounting) complete a specialist core to develop their knowledge and skills in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate finance and accounting information systems. The Master of Management (Accounting) is certified by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Successful completion of the Master of Management (Accounting) prepares students to apply for entry to the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) professional studies program.

Successful completion of the Monash Bachelor of Nursing for those wishing to specialise in nursing or the Monash Bachelor of Midwifery for those wishing to specialise in midwifery with a distinction average (at least 70 percent) in the final full two years of study as well as distinction average in 24 points at level 3 or above in the discipline

This is a prestigious program of coursework and research in either Nursing or Midwifery for high achieving students who have completed the Bachelor of Nursing and/or the Bachelor of Midwifery, or a comparable degree course.

This degree specialises in management activities within the Human Resources industry. You will participate in in-depth learning in areas such as: labour relations managing people strategic approaches in human resources management motivating and rewarding employees dealing with stakeholders data analysis developing HR policies and practices

Units 3 & 4: A study score of at least 25 in English/English Language/Literature or at least 30 in EAL, and at least 25 in Mathematical Methods (CAS) or Specialist Mathematics. Applicants intending to major in Actuarial Studies or undertake a breadth sequence in Engineering Systems are strongly encouraged to complete VCE Specialist Mathematics or equivalent. Applicants intending to undertake an Engineering sequence in Electrical or Mechanical Systems are encouraged to undertake VCE Physics or equivalent If this has not been completed, applicants may be required to undertake additional physics subjects.

An undergraduate degree including: the equivalent of 25 points (2 subjects) of first year mathematics, specifically Calculus 2 and Linear Algebra (or equivalent), and the equivalent of 25 points of Physics (or equivalent). with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%), or equivalent.

Mechanical engineers focus on turning energy into power and motion. More specifically, this discipline looks at the generation, conversion and use of energy, as well as the design, construction and operation of devices and systems.
