To apply for the Master of Ageing, you are required to have:
An undergraduate degree in any discipline, or equivalent
Documented evidence of at least two years' professional work experience.
The Master of Ageing is designed to produce leaders in the emerging field of Ageing. The subjects proposed for this course adopt an interdisciplinary, international and intergenerational approach to respond to the complex and growing challenges of an ageing worldwide population. This is the first course of its kind and is influenced by national and global politics, economics, ethics and social equity. It is grounded in a material analysis of the ways in which medicine, finance, technology and design can support healthy ageing for both individuals and populations.

a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree, or equivalent, with at least an H2A (75%) weighted average;
and
a satisfactory composition folio;
2. In ranking applications, the Selection Committee will consider:
prior academic performance; and
the composition folio.
The Master of Music (Composition) is a research degree which prepares students for a career in composition. As a student in this course you will be given supervision and guidance to produce a folio of original compositions. The folio will be made up of a minimum of two original compositions, in different media, of 50 minutes in duration. You will also produce a CD recording of a performance of at least one work written during the period of candidature. Candidates will receive regular individual lessons and will participate in composition-related activities, including a weekly Composition Seminar and Postgraduate Seminar. Students may alternately undertake a combination of folio and minor thesis (of an equivalent total) with permission of the course coordinator.

The Master of Music (Interactive Composition) is a research degree that prepares you for a specialist career in composition within other media contexts. The program seeks to develop graduates who have a capacity for defining and managing a major creative research project characterised by originality and independence. Interactive Composition candidates produce a folio of new work for sound with other media and submit a thesis. You are provided with training in research methods, contemporary artistic practice and theories of arts and culture, while developing individual mastery in your field of practice. The program invites research applicants with projects relating to interactive composition with a strong focus on interdisciplinary sound making.

The Master of Music (Jazz & Improvisation) is a research degree which prepares you for a career in contemporary music performance. The program seeks to develop graduates who have a capacity for defining and managing a major creative research project characterised by originality and independence. Jazz & Improvisation candidates present a live performance and submit a dissertation that together should investigate issues and questions that are core to contemporary music making. You are provided with training in research methods, contemporary artistic practice and theories of arts and culture while developing individual mastery in your field of practice. The program invites research applicants with projects relating to contemporary music performance individually or in an interdisciplinary way.

The Master of Music (Musicology/Ethnomusicology) is a research degree in which students undertake research in Musicology or Ethnomusicology. Musicology and Ethnomusicology candidates undertake a research project and prepare a thesis which may be presented as: A study of approximately 30,000 - 40,000 words embodying the results of significant research Or A transcription and edition of a substantial body of music together with a critical study of between 10,000-20,000 words on the music edited. Or A minor thesis of 20,000 to 25,000 words and 3 elective subjects. Candidates also participate in the weekly Postgraduate Seminar.

Master of Music (Music Psychology & Performance Science) candidates undertake a significant research project and prepare a thesis of approximately 30,000 – 40,000 words. The Master of Music seeks to develop graduates who have a capacity for defining and managing a research project characterised by originality and independence. The Master of Music equips students for more sustained and original work at the doctoral level or for applied research positions in a wide variety of contexts.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

and
evidence of academic ability;
The Master of Music (Music Therapy) is a research degree in which students undertake research in Music Therapy. Candidates undertake a significant research project and prepare a thesis of approximately 30,000 - 40,000 words. Candidates also participate in the regular Postgraduate Seminar, as well as biannual intensive research weekends with international scholars who provide additional feedback on projects. Research in Music Therapy is significantly supported and promoted by NaMTRU - National Music Therapy Research Unit.
1. In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
a four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of H2A or higher;
An internationally recognised masters by research degree designed for students to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research on a particular topic under academic supervision.
Students will produce a thesis which will demonstrate a critical application of specialist knowledge and make an independent contribution to existing scholarship in the area of research.

An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline: Biology and Biomedicine; Mathematics and Statistics; or Computer Science, with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least H3 (65%) for an International Fee Place, in the best 50 points in appropriate discipline studies at third year; and
Students must also have completed MAST10005 Calculus 1 or equivalent
Bioinformatics is often described as the future of biology research: it is a multidisciplinary field that combines all areas of biology (including genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and physiology) with computer science, statistics and applied mathematics to help understand biology and biological processes. Bioinformaticians act as an effective bridge between biologists and computer scientists.

To provide students with:
High-level experience in, and ability to conduct independent research in the biosciences;
Ability in reviewing and assessing scientific literature;
Ability in hypothesis testing, design of laboratory and/or field experiments;
Ability in advanced scientific techniques, data analysis and interpretation;
Written and oral presentations;
Potential to proceed to the PhD degree.
