This program combines engineering and complementary areas of science to provide a strong science base for engineering students. It is available with all engineering disciplines. The Bachelor of Journalism component of this dual degree is a professional program aimed at preparing graduates for entry into work in journalism and related fields. It develops understanding of journalism and its media and communication contexts; the skills to do journalism; and the reflection necessary to be a journalist. The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is designed to provide you with a broad introduction to the legal system as a whole and a thorough and critical understanding of core areas of law and legal theory. You will develop useful professional, clinical and legal analysis skills including traditional and modern legal research methods, legal writing, advocacy and alternative dispute resolution. The program emphasises interactive learning, internationally relevant content and the promotion of ethical values.
The dual four-year program allows students to combine the versatility and breadth of an arts degree, with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics degree. In the Arts component, students choose from an extensive list of majors and can undertake a range of electives. For example students may choose to pursue language studies, in order to work internationally in their field.
The dual four-year program provides students with a focused background in economic theories and principles, along with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics degree. In the Mathematics component you will choose to develop a comprehensive specialised knowledge in one field of mathematics or a high level of sophistication in the applications of mathematics. Modern computation, advances in scientific technology and the increasing production of data have all increased the scope for applications of mathematics well beyond the traditional areas of engineering and the physical sciences, to include fields such as finance, economics, information technology and molecular biology.
The dual four-year program provides students with a focused background in commerce, along with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics degree. In the Commerce component, compulsory courses will build a solid foundation of business skills that you will apply to many decisions and issues in the contemporary business environment. Commerce majors are in accounting, business information systems and finance.
